Our Company
We are a small startup company located along the Colorado Front Range. We have a couple of greenhouses for our peppers located in Centennial, CO and our kitchen is located in Monument, CO. Our company dog, Odin the Chihuahua, is the face of our brand and the heart of the team. Odin goes with the owner every day to their regular job which takes them all across southern Colorado from Aurora, CO to Cortez, CO and everywhere in between. While they aren't working their day job, they are out promoting The Pious Pith way of life.
We believe we have lost something special in a lot of the food we buy at the market: Flavor and nutrition! There is nothing like the taste of homegrown tomatoes and peppers from your own garden! That's why we work so hard to source only the best organic farm-to-table produce for everything we make. The Pious Pith is rooted in the belief that we need to return to the timeless practices of growing, preserving, pickling, and preparing food naturally and locally in order to enrich and preserve our body, community, traditions, and flavors. We can accomplish a lot through food!
To stay faithful to these beliefs, we grow our own peppers for our test kitchen and what we don't grow we purchase from our local farmers. We use the ancient process of Lacto-fermentation to develop unique and intense vinegars and flavors. We ferment everything for three to six months or longer and we start simply with pure spring water and kosher salt and then we let the natural process of Lacto-fermentation transform it into the amazing vinegars, sauces, and pickled produce that are packed with flavor and probiotics. We plan on providing some recipes and maybe even some how-to videos.

Our Commitment to the Earth

At The Pious Pith, we believe flavor shouldn't come at the planet’s expense. Every choice we make — from the way we ferment to the way we ship — reflects our commitment to natural, sustainable living.

TerraSkin® Labels
We print our labels on tree-free, mineral-based TerraSkin®, a paper alternative that uses no wood pulp, requires less energy, and leaves a smaller carbon footprint.

Recycled Packing Materials
We say no to bubble wrap and plastic fillers. Every shipment is packed using 100% recycled paper, because your purchase shouldn’t create more waste.

Farm-to-Table Sourcing
Our ingredients are locally sourced and organic whenever possible. We support Colorado farms, regenerative growing practices, and seasonal harvests.

Small Batch, Low Impact
We ferment in small batches and hand-fill every bottle — keeping waste low and quality high. Every step is slow, intentional, and made with the earth in mind.
We’re not just bottling heat. We’re bottling conviction.
